  Letter from the Bishop
  
  Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
  
  During my time in the Diocese one of the many things that has impressed and inspired me is the spirit of gratitude and generosity of the members of our diocesan family. This spirit was certainly demonstrated through your support of last year's Annual Catholic Appeal.
   
  In these challenging economic times, the needs facing our Church are now greater than ever before. Together, through your support of the Appeal, we can significantly promote the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church in our local area, and:
  ·Improve the lives of thousands of our own brothers   and sisters in need through more than 100 social service programs in 20 counties.
  ·Support the education and formation of our seminarians.
  ·Provide for new parishes.
  ·Return 25% of proceeds to local parishes for their own social service ministries.
  
  I invite you to join me and the rest of the Catholic community supporting the 2021 Annual Catholic Appeal with grateful and generous hearts. The times are filled with uncertainty for everyone and will require greater sacrifice on our part. Please be as generous as you can, and may God bless you for your service to Christ and His Church.
